Your idiotic boss who is less qualified than you but is paid astoundingly more than you hands you a impossible deadline at 3.18pm on a friday afternoon, and the free staff drinks downstairs starts at 4:30pm....

The picture on the left indicates what happens when too many of these type of deadlines occur...

This however still leaves you with 48 minutes to complete the deadline, taking into consideration that the average length of a song amounts to 3.5min which gives you have 13 songs to get you amped, the work done and down to that free bar in time grab a cold brew and to chat up the office hottie...AARRRGG!!!

08. The Faint - I Disappear (Wet from Birth)

Mr Knights 5 Albums for now...

1.The Fratellis - Costello Music
My album for the now. If you like that British, garagy kinda vibe, then go get this album. Nice and pacy, with a good deal of jumping up and down songs. Good for waking you up in the morning. Similar to Arctic monkeys, The libertine's or maybe slightly The Hives.

Recommended songs - no1. Henrietta, Chelsea dagger and "Got na nuts from a hippy" are my fav's from this album.

2. The National - Boxer
Everyone needs a album to put on and sit back with a glass of red wine to relax and blow off some steam, this right here is perfect in that regard. Or even for long distance driving. Similar sound to "Kings of Leon" which you can read more about on Mr Dade murphy's post. The drummer needs an applause after every song, have not heard a drummer play with such conviction in a long time.

Recommended songs - " Mistaken for Strangers" and "Fake Empire" sets the tone and "Start a war" is super...

3. Rooney - Rooney
Self titled debut album. Teenage feel good catchy-tuned album that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Love the bear on the cover. If you like "Mika" you will like these guys. Sadly i have to admit i found them while watchin The OC series on DVD, yes i do watch soapy kinda chik-like series..HaHaHa

If you like the harder stuff, give this one a skip, only for the soft-inside gay kinda guys, but a must for all girls. Songs to look out for - "Shakin", "Daisy Duke" and "Im a terrible person"

4. My Chemical Romance - Three cheers for sweet revenge
Yes this is not their more famous last album, but i think their best work was done before the famous last days of The black parade. Rougher raw-er and a lot more soul to this album, love the anger right here. This album reminds me of the late 90's with the likes of Blink's beginnings and Nirvanas end. Sound is very similar to "Finch" and maybe a angrier version of Good charlotte... if that is allowed to be said?

Do not listen to this while driving as taking out the idiot taxi might seem like a great idea with this playing loudly..!! Classic songs - "Helena", "You know what they do to guys like us in prison" and definatly "Im not okay (i promise)" are my fav's but there are many sides to the romance...

5. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Let Love In
What happened to Nick in his youth nobody will ever know... but what we all have from that is his painfull balads. Poety recital with a band playing in the background, not going to put you in a party mood but on a lonely cold evening with only your thoughts, this would be perfect.
I will never be able to completely describe why i like this kind of music but for some reason it all makes sense, buy the album, listen and make up your own mind... but please dont go through life without going into The CAVE!!

Some of you might recognise "Red Right Hand" from the X-files soundtrack..
Other great songs - "Loverman" , "Thirsty Dog"... Dark as it should be...

I hope this keeps you going for a while...

5 Albums you love, this very second!

1. The Bravery - The sun and the moon

Loving this album right now!!! especially the song Bad Sun, feel good music all round. good follow up the their debut album, which if you haven't heard before, do yourself a favour. they also have a pretty unique sound,
which is difficult to describe, it's kinda i dare say; Franz Ferdinandish - but better! 8.5/10

2. Grinderman - Grinderman (feat. Nick Cave)

Aaahh, yes the strange disturbed genius of Nick Cave combined with the inst
rumental backing of the group Grinderman. Don't know allot about them, but this creation/accident is something that just works. it's almost if they're all old friends and just started f*cking around in a studio one day and someone pressed record by accident. you'll know what i mean when you listen to the song Honey Bee. Mr Knight will back me up here, they were smoking some strong shit!!! also, cool mental green monkey on cover ;) 9/10

3. Kings of Leon - Because of the times

Their best album up to date! anyone already a fan won't be disappointed. everything just sounds better and deeper than before. intelligent
lyrics with interesting and sometimes unconventional topics i.e. Knocked Up. Favourite song has to be Fans - you can't not feel inspired when listening to this song. Black Thumbnail and Ragoo is also right up there. also a band sounding different than the rest of the BS out there. Kinda folk rock but without the barn and hay. 9/10

4. The Dandy Warhols - Thirteen tales of urban bohemia

yes, i know it's an old album, but it still f*cking kicks ass! someone once described it as the album you put on your ipod when cruising through the office when you wanna feel cooler than everyone else, and that's exactly what it is!!! cheeky, cocky, full of laid-back yet suck-it attitude. Horse Pills and Cool Scene are what I'm talking about. Solid is more chirpy and whacked, Get Off is continuing somewhere along the same line b
ut a bit more radio-friendly. this modern physicadellic 60's revival band is an ideal soundtrack for the everyday rat race. 9/10

5. The Mad Caddies - Keep it going

Ska punk band, which wants to make you, stand up and start jumping up and down with one foot slightly in the air and slightly stretched out in front of you - you know; they way all those ska lead singers do it on stage? anyway, think locally The Rudimentals and you get the idea. all round awesome album, listen to Pyramid Scheme, Reflections and Without You, to start bouncing and State of Mind and Souls for Sale when your foot gets sore and you need a break. 8.5/10

Let me know what you think...

Mr. Murphy

New beginnings

OK here we go...

alright so me and Mr. Knight over here basically still have no idea as to how this really works, but hey f*ck it, it can't be that difficult, right? so I'm just gonna jump in and start rambling on about something?! please over look any bad grammar and rather focus on the music discussed ;) and then go and listen to it...

basically we started this blog to just talk about music we found, old or new - music we think kicks ass...and that's about as far as we thought it through?! so hopefully you'll discover some new bands and if it sounds interesting enough, you'll start listening to it, and you'll be wondering how you have come this far without it. cause there's nothing better than discovering your new favourite band!

with that said i have no idea were to start ... Mr. Knight?
